help

Gloss is a podcast player for the moments you don’t quite follow.
Tap Explain when you lose the thread
Gloss reads the transcript around exactly where you are — not just the episode title — and explains the thing that most likely lost you. No question needed the first time.
Type, and the episode keeps playing
Ask follow-ups by text and the show carries on in the background. Tap the mic instead and the episode pauses for the whole conversation, because otherwise the mic would hear it — it starts again when you end the chat. You can turn off the keep-playing behaviour in Settings under Voice.
Chapters and transcript, any time
Tap the chapter name under the episode title to jump around, or open the transcript to read along. Neither needs the tutor — they are there whenever you want them.
Questions other people asked
Episodes with a gloss show the questions listeners most often stop on. Tapping one opens Explain with it already asked.
Tell it how much you know
The explanation level in Settings changes what the tutor assumes and what it skips. An expert gets the contested claim; a newcomer gets grounded in something familiar first. It is worth setting honestly.
It remembers what you have asked
Questions collect under Your memory, so explanations build on what you already know instead of starting from scratch each time.
Gloss Plus
Gloss is free to use, with 25 explains a month. Plus removes the cap and unlocks voice conversations and long-term memory. If you have a beta code, redeem it on the Account tab — no card needed.
